FAQ

Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Got a question not answered here? Please contact me.

1. I thought you were selling this domain?
We were. But too many people were submitting bids way below what this domain is worth. We even had a few people become irate and obnoxious and attempt to scream at us to sell this domain to them. We decided after all of the nonsense to keep the domain and sell AD space instead. This is a highly sought after domain. At the time were were selling it (2-1/2 years) we have received well over 50 requests a week to sell it. Watching the stats on this site, we realized that this domain was generating more traffic than polite bids. Hence, we decided to do this.
We have also contemplated selling sub-domains. example: mysite.dll.com or even www.dll.com/mysite. This is also a very viable option. We have had a number of requests to do this. If you are interested ina sub-domain, please let us know.

2. Why should I buy your pixel/Adspace?
Because you will have the chance to advertise on a high traffic, 3 letter domain site! Three letter domains are extremely rare on the Internet these days. Most people know that DLL stands for Dynamic Linked Libraries which are an integral part of the Windows Operating System. Most of the hits for this site when this domain was transferred to other domains we own, were requests for broken or lost DLL's. This grew however into some VERY interesting traffic patterns. So why not grab this opportunity to advertise in this way? What more is there to say?

3. Why can't I buy one pixel?
One pixel would be quite cool although it would be very hard to see and find your link, and even harder to place all the orders onto the grid. We think that for your money, you want more visability in your ad than just one or 2 pixels. Thus, we set the minimum advertising size to 100x100 pixels and set the price so it does not break your wallet. It also makes advertising resonable for the small guy.

4. How long will the site be online for?
As long as you want it for. Each ad/pixel space will run for 1 year from the time you purchase it. At the end of that year, your space/ad becomes available again. You can contract with us for multi-year advertising campaigns. We are totally flexible to your needs and wallet. We also want to give everyone a chance to get on this site. Most "pixels site" start at either 4 months free and then grow from there OR run for 3 years or more. Why? Why not allow others to get their placement on this as well?

5. What makes your site better than the rest?
a) 3 letter domain, easier to remember, more hits.
b) DLL is related to programing and other areas. Always talked about and searched for!
b) High traffic website based upon historical data. This domain has been in existance for nearly 10 years!!
c) Cheap, resonable and flexible to your needs.

6. Will the price change, 50 cents is cheap!
This all depends upon the demand. If we sell more within our projected period (3 months), we may raise the pricing, we may not. It all depends on how many and how fast space ont his website sells out. We do however reserve the right to raise the rates at our discretion. If you purchase now, you will be locked in at the going rate now. If in 3 months we raise the rate, you have already purchased your space/pixels and will not be charged more, unless your time expires. Then if you renew or want to renew, it will be renewed at the current rate.

7. If I am not getting the hits I thought I was, could I get a refund?
The answer is one of the shortest in history. No. No refunds, no guarantee of hits. Make your ad eye apealing to catch the eye of the viewer. Its up to you.

8. I do not know how to create a graphic, can you help me?
Absolutely! Tell us what size (in accordance with our pixel blocks or adspace ads) and we will work with you to create the ad for you. We do however charge for this service and we contract to do this. No exceptions.

9. If my ad size is 1 or 2 pixels larger than the requirement, is that ok?
No. Pixel Blocks are 10x10pixels in size and Adspaces are as defined. We will not accept anything outside of this size or increments thereof.

10. Can my ad be in FLASH or animated?
The Adspace areas (at the top of the page) can be. Contact us for more information. The Pixels area can not be and must be in JPG format only.

11. Can I do something to get free pixel space?
Maybe. We will approach this question as it arises. Send us an email. We will look at this on a one to one basis. Although there is no guarrantee we will accept your proposal, make it.. what do you have to lose? 3 minutes to write an email?

12. Is there a limit to what I can post?
This is a good question! I will address this, one request at a time. We have a high degree of adults and children who visit this site. Discretion may be the better part of valor, but we also do not want to censor anyone. Keep the ad "as clean as possible" or if you are unsure, ask us.

13. Are you going to change your mind and sell this domain?
Anyone who contracts with us for multi-year advertising will be grandfathered into anything we do. Will we sell this domain? If the price is right (at least $15million US <grins> ) we will seriously have to think about that. But we will ensure that no matter what we do, your advertising dollars will NOT be wasted. This is our promise. The answer for the next year is... NO, we will not sell this domain. (do I hear 25 million??)

14. Can I set up some sort of payment schedule?
No. All advertising is paid for up front before the ad is turned on.

15. I do not have a PAYPAL account. Is there another form of payment?
Yes, we accept Mastercard, Visa, and Bank transfers can be done as well. Please post your ad to reserve your spot and contact us IMMEDIATELY if this is the case.

16. Do you have any other domains you might be doing this with that are high traffic?
We are considering using another domain or 2 to do just this. Watch the NEWS! If and when we do this, we will post this in the News Section.

17. I want to do this as well. Do you host domains and can I switch my domain over to you?
Contact us via email and we will let you know more.

.... more to come.

Dynamic Link Library, a library of executable functions or data that can be used by a Windows application. Typically, a DLL provides one or more particular functions and a program accesses the functions by creating either a static or dynamic link to the DLL. A static link remains constant during program execution while a dynamic link is created by the program as needed. DLLs can also contain just data. DLL files usually end with the extension .dll,.exe., drv, or .fon.

A DLL can be used by several applications at the same time. Some DLLs are provided with the Windows operating system and available for any Windows application. Other DLLs are written for a particular application and are loaded with the application.

Delay Locked Loop, Delay-Locked Loop (DLL) supports high-bandwidth data rates between devices. These DLLs are circuits that provide zero propagation delay, low-clock skew between output clock signals throughout a device, and advanced clock domain control. These dedicated DLLs can be used to implement several circuits that improve and simplify system level design.
These are just a few samples of what DLL stands for. To learn more, Google DLL and you will see that DLL stands for hundreds of different meanings.
